SENCo

We are now seeking a skilled and committed leader to join the team as SENCO for the secondary academy, who will play an important role in the overall management of the academy. As SENCO  for the secondary academy you will lead, develop and support effective practice for pupils with Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities (SEND), English as an Additional Language (EAL) and those with additional needs, to ensure that they are able to make rapid progress in line with the Academy’s expectations. You will lead the Secondary Inclusion Faculty and be responsible for developing the expertise of staff to provide high quality education.

The successful candidate will:

• be an outstanding manager with a proven track record of delivering excellence have experience of successfully leading a in a school or similar setting
• have experience of delivering effective training to individuals and groups of staff
• have experience of helping coordinate the vision and strategy for a large school or organisation
• have experience of managing effective external relationships with community and other stakeholders
• be passionate about working in a school and with young people

Isaac Newton Academy is a non-denominational, non-selective school, welcoming students of all backgrounds from the local community. We opened in 2012 with our inaugural cohort of 180 year 7 students.
