We are now looking for a Learning Support Assistant, who will support the Inclusion team, and the wider school community, by taking responsibility for the engagement and learning of pupils identified as having Special Educational Needs. We need an exceptional practitioner who will be an inspirational role model to our pupils and work with both teachers and the wider school community to establish a supportive and nurturing learning environment in which our pupils with Special Educational Needs make good progress.
Our ideal Learning Support Assistant will:
- Have experience in establishing successful learning relationships with pupils at the relevant age, treating them consistently with respect and consideration
- Have experience in and/or understanding of a learning support role
- Have experience of working with outside agencies and families (desirable)
- Have experience with working on a one-to-one basis to support pupils with additional needs and have a commitment helping them to reach their full potential
- Have completed a Certified teaching assistant course or have proven experience of working in a similar role
- Have experience in developing and delivering programmes of interpersonal skills, behaviour management.
- Be able to demonstrate the ability to provide clear and consistent adult-modelling to promote communication skills.
- Have a good knowledge of Education, Health and Care Plans and implementing these.
- Hold a genuine passion for and a belief in the potential of every pupil
