We are looking for a dynamic Careers Lead to develop and implement a comprehensive careers programme, embedding the Gatsby Benchmarks and ensuring compliance with statutory careers guidance. You will work closely with students, staff, employers, and training providers, creating meaningful opportunities that enhance employability skills, career awareness, and student aspirations.
About the role:
As Careers Lead, you will be instrumental in shaping our students’ journeys beyond school, ensuring they receive the guidance, support, and opportunities needed to make confident and informed career decisions. You will lead career-focused initiatives, including work experience placements, industry visits, and employer-led projects, creating meaningful engagement with the working world. Through tailored one-to-one guidance, curriculum integration, and career events, you will empower students to explore a range of pathways, from apprenticeships and vocational training to higher education and employment. Your role is essential in fostering a culture of aspiration and employability, equipping students with the knowledge and skills to thrive beyond their academic years.
Our ideal candidate will be:
- Passionate about careers education, committed to helping students explore their future opportunities
- Experienced in careers guidance, employability programmes, or student support, with knowledge of post-16 and post-18 pathways
- Knowledgeable in Gatsby Benchmarks and statutory careers guidance, ensuring a high-quality careers programme
- A strong communicator, capable of engaging students, staff, employers, and educational providers
- Organised and proactive, able to coordinate career events, work experience placements, and employer engagement
- Dedicated to student success, supporting informed decision-making and personal development
