    • Provide targeted, school-facing support to maths departments, working with leaders and teachers to strengthen curriculum implementation, teaching and pupil outcomes.
    • Support implementation of Ark's maths curriculum and assessment approach, including the KS4 curriculum framework, Precise Planning, common assessment and effective use of assessment information to respond to gaps in learning.
    • Support our work to strengthen KS3 mathematics, including the Year 7 maths catch-up programme and approaches to improving teaching and addressing gaps in foundational knowledge.
    • Develop maths leaders and teachers across the network through Network Days, subject network meetings, professional development, collaboration and the sharing of effective practice.
    • Contribute to the continued development of Ark's maths curriculum and resources, working closely with colleagues across Ark Schools and Ark Curriculum Plus.
    • Use evidence from school visits, assessment and outcomes to identify priorities, provide clear and actionable feedback, and support departments to make and sustain improvements.

    • Passionate about improving maths teaching, curriculum and assessment, with the ability to translate subject expertise into practical support for schools
    • Able to use assessment, outcomes and other evidence to identify priorities and support leaders to improve provision and pupil achievement

If so, this is an excellent opportunity to shape the future of maths across Ark.

  • About Us

  • There are 34,000 students learning in our network of 48 schools across Birmingham, Hastings, London, Pontefract and Portsmouth. We’ve always believed that, with the right approach, every child has the potential to succeed. We work in the communities where we can make the biggest difference to children’s lives, and all our schools are non-selective.

It works: our schools achieve great results – significantly outperforming national averages, especially when it comes to driving progress – the best measure for ‘closing the gap’.

We take what we learn in our schools to develop new solutions and approaches that we can share. Over the last two decades, we have developed and incubated more than 20 projects and programmes, supporting them to scale and achieve systemic impact on the life chances of all children. Over 300,000 children currently learn using an Ark curriculum and our Ark Start nurseries are demonstrating a new model for early years education that we hope will become the norm.

    Diversity and inclusion:

We aim to build a diverse and inclusive organisation where everyone – staff and students – can do their best work and achieve their full potential. We want to reflect and represent diverse perspectives across our organisation because we know that doing so will make us stronger and more effective. Safeguarding statement:

Ark is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people in its academies. In order to meet this responsibility, its academies follow a rigorous selection process to discourage and screen out unsuitable applicants.

Ark requires all employees to undertake an enhanced DBS check. You are required, before appointment, to disclose any unspent conviction, cautions, reprimands or warnings under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975. Non-disclosure may lead to termination of employment. However, disclosure of a criminal background will not necessarily debar you from employment - this will depend upon the nature of the offence(s) and when they occurred. Please note we will be reviewing applications on an on-going basis and this role may close earlier than advertised depending on the level of response. We strongly encourage to submit your application at your earliest convenience.
